US President Donald Trump warns Iran to get serious in talks to end the Middle East war, criticises NATO allies for not joining the conflict.

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump warned Iran to “get serious soon” in talks to end the Middle East war. He also reiterated criticism of NATO allies for not joining the United States and Israel in the conflict.

Trump insisted Iran was actively negotiating with the US despite public denials from Iranian officials. “The Iranian negotiators are very different and ‘strange,'” he wrote on Truth Social.

“They are ‘begging’ us to make a deal, which they should be doing since they have been militarily obliterated, with zero chance of a comeback, and yet they publicly state that they are only ‘looking at our proposal.’ WRONG!!!”

He urged Iran to act quickly “before it is too late”. Trump added that “once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty!”

Pakistan confirmed it delivered a 15-point US plan to Iranian officials. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said “indirect talks” were taking place with Islamabad as an intermediary.

Trump also took aim at NATO allies again after previously describing them as “cowards”. “NATO NATIONS HAVE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP WITH THE LUNATIC NATION, NOW MILITARILY DECIMATED, OF IRAN,” he wrote.

He once again cast doubt on future US support for the alliance. “THE U.S.A. NEEDS NOTHING FROM NATO, BUT ‘NEVER FORGET’ THIS VERY IMPORTANT POINT IN TIME!”
