The Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan has called on state leaders to ensure all decisions are fact-based and guided by established laws, warning against actions driven by personal emotion.

SEREMBAN: YANG Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir has issued a firm reminder to state leaders.

He stressed that all decisions and actions must be based on a thorough evaluation of facts and relevant information.

His Royal Highness said actions must be guided by established rules and laws. He delivered this message at the opening of the First Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th State Legislative Assembly at Wisma Negeri.

“Decisions or actions must never be influenced solely by personal desires or emotions,” Tuanku Muhriz stated in his royal address. He warned that failure to adhere to these principles could undermine administrative integrity and the state’s wellbeing.

The ruler’s remarks were directed at individuals entrusted with high office. He emphasised the significant responsibilities that accompany such positions.

Tuanku Muhriz also offered advice to the general public. He urged that comments on issues be made with a strong sense of responsibility and thorough understanding.

“Do not be quick to believe or disseminate information without proper investigation and verification,” he cautioned. He stated that rash information sharing could have adverse effects on society and the state.

Addressing global economic challenges, His Royal Highness said the state government must stay focused. He emphasised implementing projects that deliver tangible benefits to the people.

All leaders share the responsibility of guiding the state towards unity, prosperity and wellbeing. He reminded them that their actions are closely observed by the people.

“In today’s borderless digital world, everything you do is easily known,” Tuanku Muhriz noted. The Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud, was also in attendance.

The ruler further advised all state assemblymen to conduct debates rationally and intellectually. He said arguments should be constructive and aimed at addressing the people’s concerns.

They were also reminded to uphold, protect and defend both the Federal and State Constitutions. Tuanku Muhriz instructed them to adhere to the Standing Orders throughout the assembly proceedings.
