Tun Daim's wife, two children still abroad - police

POLICE have yet to obtain statements from Toh Puan Na'imah Abdul Khalid - the wife of former Finance Minister, the late Tun Daim Zainuddin, and her two children, regarding investigations into allegations of attempting to overthrow the government and sabotage the country's stability, as they are believed to be abroad.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) Director, Datuk M. Kumar, said a review of Immigration Department records found that all of them left the country immediately after the police report was made.

According to him, the police had tried to contact them since the beginning of the investigation, but found that all three were already abroad.

"So far, a total of 17 witnesses have been called to assist in the investigation under Section 124B of the Penal Code," he said at a press conference at the Kajang District Police Headquarters today.

He said that the investigation paper regarding the case has also been completed and submitted to the Attorney General's Chambers for further instructions and advice.

"We are still waiting for feedback for the next action," he said.

On March 3, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed that there was an attempt to overthrow the government, which was allegedly supported by local citizens, by using the influence of the media and international institutions, including prominent Zionist groups.

Initial police investigations found that the movement was based abroad and was believed to have large funds to plan strategies to dispute and destabilise the existing government. – May 26, 2026
