Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad celebrated his 101st birthday on Friday (July 10), marking yet another milestone in his life.
Born on July 10, 1925, in Kampung Seberang Perak, Alor Setar, Kedah, Dr Mahathir served as Malaysia’s fourth prime minister from 1981 to 2003 before returning as the country’s seventh prime minister from 2018 to 2020.
PM Anwar wishes him good health
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was among those who extended birthday wishes to Dr Mahathir.
In a Facebook post, Anwar wished the former premier a happy 101st birthday and prayed that he would continue to receive blessings, enjoy good health and remain under God’s grace.
“Happy 101st birthday to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. May Tun continue to be blessed with grace, good health and His blessings, God willing,” the post read.
‘101 is the new 70’
Dr Mahathir’s daughter, Marina Mahathir, also shared several recent photos of her father smiling while seated in a chair.
“101 is the new 70. Happy Birthday Dad!” she wrote.
The posts received warm birthday messages from Malaysians, with many wishing the former prime minister continued health and happiness.
