Former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has issued a scathing condemnation of the ongoing violence in Gaza, labeling the crisis as “the greatest injustice.” and accusing the United States of enabling Israel's actions against the Palestinian people.

In a blog post titled "The Greatest Injustice", published on April 30, 2025, Mahathir painted a harrowing picture of the situation in Gaza. He criticized Israel’s continued attacks, which he says are killing civilians daily—including women, children, and the elderly—in plain view of the international community.

"Babies and sick patients are being killed while lying in hospital beds. Even ambulances and tents housing displaced families have been bombed," he wrote, pointing to what he describes as blatant violations of international law. Mahathir accused Israeli forces of targeting not just combatants but the very infrastructure necessary for survival—hospitals, schools, shelters, and humanitarian convoys.

The former leader expressed deep frustration over the world's silence, saying that no international peacekeeping efforts have been deployed, and critical aid such as food, water, and medicine has been obstructed. “There are no safe places in Gaza,” he lamented.

Mahathir's sharpest criticism, however, was reserved for the United States. He accused Washington of fully supporting what he called a campaign of genocide by Israel. "These are the same Americans who preach about human rights and the sanctity of life. Yet they back this bloodshed," he said, branding such actions as deeply hypocritical.

He further accused the U.S. of viewing the rest of the world as adversaries and using its power to reshape nations under the guise of national interest. Mahathir suggested that America’s ambitions extend beyond political influence, alleging a desire to “seize whole countries to make America great.”

He warned that unchecked aggression by the U.S. and Israel could drag the world into a third world war, and called for nations to overcome their fear of confronting America’s influence. “Only a credible threat against the U.S. will stop it from supporting this mass killing and turning Gaza into a tourist resort,” he argued.
