Tun Musa pays tribute to Tun Ahmadshah's legacy, exemplary public service

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s former Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah, who passed away at a private hospital, here last night, carried out his duties and responsibilities as the ninth Yang Dipertua Negeri and a civil servant with excellence and dedication.

The Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah Tun Musa Aman said during his lifetime, Ahmadshah was known as a sincere, honest, and kind individual with a friendly nature who was well-liked by all.

Tun Musa, who visited Ahmadshah’s remains at the hospital last night, also expressed his condolences to the family and prayed that his soul would be blessed and placed among the righteous.

Ahmadshah, 78, died at a private hospital here at 8.45 pm yesterday. His passing was confirmed by Sabah State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong in a statement.

He was laid to rest at the Kampung Inanam Laut Muslim Cemetery at 2.30 pm today.

Ahmadshah was sworn in as the ninth Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah on January 1, 2003, and served for four years before being reappointed for a second term from January 1, 2007, to December 31, 2010.
