Trying
Cast:
Rafe Spall, Esther Smith, Scarlett Rayner, Cooper Turner, Charlotte Riley, Darren Boyd and Sian Brooke

Season five finds Nikki (Smith) and Jason (Spall) dealing with the consequences of Princess (Rayner) and Tyler’s (Turner) biological mother Kat (Riley) turning up at their doorstep, and the whirlwind of chaos she brings into their settled family life. The eight-episode comedy will make its global return to Apple TV with its first episode on July 8 followed by one episode weekly through Aug 26.

Elle
Cast:
Lexi Minetree, June Diane Raphael, Tom Everett Scott, Gabrielle Policano and Jacob Moskovitz

Season one of Elle follows Elle Woods (Minetree) before she was a fish-out-of-water at Harvard. We meet her in 1995 as a fish in the tumultuous waters of high school where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance and questionable fashion choices. Through it all, Elle uses her family as a touchstone and forms an even tighter bond with her mother. The series premiered yesterday on Prime Video.

Silo
Cast:
Rebecca Ferguson, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley and Shane McRae

Season three reveals an origin story set centuries earlier, while continuing the saga of a dystopian society of 10,000 people living underground under mysterious circumstances. In the present, Juliette Nichols (Ferguson) survives her forced “cleaning” but returns with memory loss. The 10-episode season will premiere on Apple TV with the first episode tomorrow, followed by one new episode every Friday through Sept 4.

The Husband
Cast:
Namkoong Min and Lee Sul

What started off as a marriage made in heaven for Taeju and Seyun quickly descended into bickering and fighting, and after four years of misery, successful neurosurgeon Taeju finally decides to call it quits. But when Seyun goes missing under suspicious circumstances the day after her husband asks for a divorce, Taeju suddenly becomes the prime suspect as he works to evade police and rescue his estranged wife. The Korean crime thriller comes to Disney+ this Saturday.

X-Men ’97

Season two continues with the heroic mutant team of X-Men, divided and thrown across different eras in time as they struggle to navigate their return home. Meanwhile, back in the 1990s, suspicious foes and new strains of mutant intolerance are on the rise in the wake of the X-Men’s absence. Marvel Animation’s Emmy-nominated series returned to Disney+ yesterday.

Lucky
Cast:
Anya Taylor-Joy, Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Drew Starkey

Lucky is based on The New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley. When a multi-million-dollar heist goes sideways, con artist Lucky (Taylor-Joy) is forced to go on the run. Pursued by the FBI and a ruthless crime boss, Lucky must fight for her life – and a way out. The series will debut on Apple TV with the first two episodes on July 15, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through Aug 19.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe
Cast:
Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn and John Ross Bowie

After accidentally creating a new multiverse, comic book store owner Stuart Bloom (Sussman) must locate a quantum-interference device to restore reality. Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is a spinoff from The Big Bang Theory and executive produced by Emmy-nominated creators Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn and Bill Prady. The 10-episode Max Original comedy series will debut on July 24 on HBO Max.

Maara
Cast:

Maara follows 19-year-old university student Maragathavalli, known as Maara, as she pursues fame and financial stability as a social media influencer under the guidance of her mentor Alice. As her ambition intensifies, Maara crosses ethical lines – exploiting her disabled sister for a viral post and later leaking her rival Brindha’s private video, which leads to tragic consequences.
