- Eight other men were detained under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act in various locations including Surrey, Essex, Ipswich, Greater Manchester and London.
- Commander Helen Flanagan of Counter Terrorism Policing London confirmed the swift action, while home secretary Shabana Mahmood condemned the threat and urged unity.
