TWO suspected armed robbers were shot dead following an exchange of gunfire with officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of Royal Malaysia Police in Bandar Seri Putra, Kajang, on Monday night.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M. Kumar said the incident occurred at approximately 9.10pm along Jalan Persiaran Seri Putra 2 in Kajang.
Police believe the two local suspects were involved in multiple robbery cases across the Klang Valley and had been under investigation prior to the operation.
“An inspection at the scene uncovered a revolver-type pistol together with several rounds of ammunition and spent bullet casings.
“Also recovered were four machetes, housebreaking tools, face masks and gloves,” Kumar said in a statement issued late Monday.
The fatal confrontation unfolded during a police operation conducted by Bukit Aman officers, although authorities have yet to disclose further details surrounding the circumstances that led to the exchange of fire.
Police are expected to provide additional information during a press conference scheduled for Tuesday.
The incident marks the latest in a series of police operations targeting violent criminal gangs and armed robbery syndicates operating within the Klang Valley region. - May 26, 2026
