
Two unidentified bike-borne snatchers targeted a lecturer in the Civil Lines area in Ludhiana. The incident occurred when the lecturer, who works at Khalsa College, was going on her Honda Activa on June 7. The assailants snatched her gold chain in broad daylight and fled the scene.
According to reports, the victim, Bhavna Sachdeva, a resident of Sant Nagar, Haibowal Kalan, was going on her two-wheeler on the evening of June 7. As she crossed the Domoria Bridge and reached Iqbal Nursing Home in the Civil Lines area, two unidentified men on a motorcycle approached her from the rear.
According to the victim, the pillion rider on the motorcycle snatched the gold chain, weighing around 1.5 tolas, from her neck and fled the scene on their motorcycle.
A case has been registered against the unidentified suspects on Tuesday.
Head constable Asees Kumar, who is investigating the case, said footage from CCTV cameras installed at the crime scene and nearby areas was being scanned to identify the snatchers.
