Two female cats have been left outside a rescue centre with a heartbreaking letter.

Two cats have been found in cat carriers outside the closed doors of a rescue centre in Las Vegas, USA.

“Our team found them, and honestly, we cried,” the staff at Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions told LoveMeow.

As they got closer, the volunteers and staff noticed a note had been left on one of the carriers.

Waiting for a new home

The person who wrote it explained they could no longer care for the cats. They had been with them since they were kittens, were gentle but timid, and they were deeply sorry.

Sugar and Spice's story was shared on social media, and many people got in touch to show their support.

A photoshoot for a fresh start

The two female cats were given a special photoshoot to help find a home where they could be adopted together.

Everyone at Wamiz hopes they will find their forever home very soon.
