
Two men were charged in the Shah Alam Sessions Court yesterday for misappropriating diesel under Op Tiris 4.0, with bail set at RM10,000 each.
SHAH ALAM: Two men were charged in the Sessions Court yesterday in connection with the misappropriation of diesel under the Control of Supplies Act 1961, following enforcement action under Op Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) by the Selangor office of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.
Selangor KPDN director Muhamad Hanif Asa’ari, in a statement, said the first accused, a 58-year-old male proprietor of a wholesale company, faces two charges.
On the first count, he was charged with purchasing 2,000 litres of diesel from an individual or entity not licensed or authorised in writing to sell the fuel. The offence was allegedly committed at 9.28 pm on April 24 at a premises in Panasuria, Shah Alam.
He also faces a second charge for failing to maintain a stock register for scheduled items, namely diesel. This included allegedly not recording details of purchases and sales, such as the date, quantity, price, and the particulars of sellers or buyers.
The second accused, a 28-year-old lorry driver, was charged with possessing about 4,000 litres of diesel in a tanker lorry without a valid permit at the same location and time.
Both men pleaded not guilty. The court granted bail of RM10,000 for each charge, with one surety, and ordered them to report to the KPDN office in Shah Alam once a month.
Muhamad Hanif said Selangor KPDN remains committed to intensifying enforcement under Op Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) through the “Kita Gempur” campaign initiative to ensure compliance with the law and safeguard public interests.
