
BEAUFORT: Two crocodiles were shot and captured by the Sabah Wildlife Department near Sungai Weston, which is known to be a crocodile habitat, around 7.30am on Tuesday.
One of the crocodiles measured about three metres long and weighed over 100kg, while the other was about a metre long and weighed close to 30kg.The larger crocodile, believed to be the mother, was found in a weakened state while the other had already died.
Urban Development Committee Chairman Amin Abas said the surviving crocodile will either be put down or sent to a wildlife park, depending on the Wildlife Department.
