
- Two people have died after a light aircraft crashed in a field near Ongar, Essex, yesterday afternoon.
- The two-seat Cessna plane had taken off from North Weald airfield, approximately seven miles from the crash site.
- Police were alerted to the incident at 12.30pm on Tuesday by members of the public.
- The flight was described as a 'short flight experience' and the aircraft sadly did not return to the airfield.
- The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
