A shooting at the Bite of Seattle food festival near the Space Needle on Sunday evening resulted in two dead and five injuries.
Among the injured, a 56-year-old woman is in serious condition, while a two-year-old boy, a 23-year-old man, and a 39-year-old woman are stable; 40-year-old woman sustained minor injuries.
Police are investigating the incident, which occurred around 6pm, and urged the public to avoid the area, though no arrests have been made yet.
Washington Governor Bob Ferguson expressed condolences and deployed State Patrol SWAT officers to assist local police.
Witnesses described widespread panic, people fleeing, and hearing multiple gunshots, with some taking shelter in nearby buildings.
