JOHOR authorities reported that two men were killed and five others sustained injuries in a three-vehicle collision on the Senai–Desaru Expressway at kilometre 45.6 early on Saturday.

The accident, which occurred at approximately 5.37 am, involved a Proton Saga, a Proton Wira, and a Perodua Myvi, carrying a total of seven passengers.

Commander of Operations at the Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Station, Senior Fire Officer I Nazarudin Yusof, stated that a team of eight personnel and a specialized Fire Rescue Team vehicle were dispatched to the scene, located about 24 kilometres from the station.

"Upon arrival at 5.58 am, our team found two victims trapped inside their vehicles. They were confirmed deceased at the scene by the Ministry of Health," said Nazarudin.

He added that the deceased were a 21-year-old man in the Proton Saga and a 19-year-old man in the Proton Wira.

The five other victims, who were not trapped, sustained injuries, including a 14-year-old girl who was reported unconscious, alongside four adults with various injuries.

Firefighters employed specialised road traffic accident (RTA) equipment to extricate the trapped victims. The rescue operation was fully controlled by 7 am and concluded thirty minutes later.

"All victims were handed over to the police and the Ministry of Health for further action," Nazarudin confirmed. - December 27, 2025
