
- An Air Canada Express plane collided with a fire truck at New York’s LaGuardia airport on Sunday night killing the pilot and co-pilot.
- The Jazz Aviation CRJ-900 aircraft, carrying 72 passengers and four crew, was arriving from Montreal when it struck the truck at approximately 24mph.
- Two New York/New Jersey Port Authority officers sustained broken bones and other injuries in the collision.
- The fire truck was reportedly responding to a separate incident on Runway 4 when the impact occurred.
- LaGuardia airport was subsequently closed, with flights diverted, and was expected to remain shut until Monday evening at 7pm.
