
Two people have died and four others, including two toddlers, were injured in a shooting in southern Spain, authorities said on Tuesday.
The incident took place overnight in the municipality of El Ejido, near Almeria in the southern region of Andalusia.
The suspected perpetrator surrendered to the police after several hours, according to broadcaster RTVE and other media outlets, citing the Guardia Civil police unit. A spokesman for the Guardia Civil confirmed the details to dpa.

The four injured were taken to hospital. The condition of a 7-month-old baby, who according to the Guardia Civil is the suspect’s son, is said to be particularly critical.
A 2-year-old girl was also injured, while a woman and an elderly man are reported to have been seriously injured.
The first emergency calls were received at around 11:15 pm (2115 GMT). The parents of the alleged perpetrator were found dead in a vehicle.
The suspect is believed to be around 25 years old. The motives behind the attack remain unclear.
