Two workers died and one was critically injured after falling from a skylift during maintenance work at a Subang Jaya apartment

SUBANG JAYA: Two men died and another was critically injured after falling from a skylift during maintenance work at an apartment here.

Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the public alerted police to the incident at 3.50pm.

Officers from the USJ 8 police station found all three victims lying at the apartment’s entrance.

“Two of them were confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head and body injuries,” Wan Azlan said in a statement.

The third victim suffered head and chest injuries and was rushed to Sultan Idris Shah Hospital in Serdang.

Initial investigations found the three foreign nationals, aged between 38 and 46, were conducting maintenance on the building’s fifth floor using the skylift during heavy rain.

Wan Azlan said no criminal elements were found at the scene so far.

The case has been classified as a sudden death report.

The victims’ bodies were sent to the Forensic Department of Sultan Idris Shah Hospital for autopsy.
