TAWAU: Police arrested two foreign nationals, aged 38 and 36, suspected of involvement in a house break-in at an unnumbered house in Batu 5 Jalan Apas on Tuesday at 3pm.

District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said minimal force was used as the suspects initially refused to cooperate.

They are believed to be involved in a break-in reported on Jan 4 at around 8pm at a farm house, where losses were estimated at RM10,000.

Stolen items included a chainsaw, LPG cylinder, fans, lighting wires, switches and bulbs, a coin container, a frying pan, travel bags containing traditional Murut attire, and the complainant’s child’s international passport.

Police recovered several stolen items during the raid, including a loudspeaker and 10 pieces of traditional ornaments.

Both suspects, who have no prior criminal records, are being detained for questioning.

The case is investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking by night to commit theft.
