The CIA-Ladwa unit of the Kurukshetra police has arrested two men in connection with a truck loaded with wheat, which was stolen from the grain market in Ladwa.

The accused have been identified as Deepak, a resident of Ladwa, and Subhash, a resident of Karnal.

Kurukshetra police spokesperson Naresh Kumar said on May 3, in his complaint to the police, Deepak Gupta, a resident of Ladwa, stated that he was a commission agent at the Ladwa grain market. On May 2, 438 bags of wheat were loaded on to a truck, and the truck driver had told Deepak Gupta that he would obtain the gate pass in the morning, and left after locking the truck.

On May 3, his accountant, Karamvir, observed that the loaded truck was missing, and when he contacted the driver, he claimed that he was at his home in Yamunanagar. Following the complaint, a case was registered at the Ladwa police station, and the investigation was handed over to the CIA-Ladwa unit.

CIA-Ladwa in-charge Surender Kumar said that during the investigation on May 5, Deepak was arrested for stealing the loaded truck and also recovered the truck from his possession. The police have also arrested Subhash, a resident of Karnal, for purchasing 145 bags of the stolen wheat. The entire stock has been recovered.
