
Kapurthala police arrested two individuals during separate anti-drug operations conducted in Kapurthala district and recovered heroin from their possession.
In the first incident, police arrested Amrinder Singh, resident of Ranjit Avenue City, Kapurthala. A patrol team was conducting routine checking near the government school in Dhakka Colony when they spotted a youth approaching on foot. On noticing the police vehicle, the suspect allegedly attempted to flee from the spot. He was immediately intercepted and searched, leading to the recovery of 10 grams of heroin from his possession.
In another operation, police arrested Balwinder Kaur, originally a resident of Dograwal, presently residing in Lakhan Khole under Subhanpur police station, Kapurthala district. According to police, a patrol party was moving from village Lakhan Khole towards Hamira when officers noticed a woman approaching from the opposite side. On spotting the police, she allegedly threw a suspicious packet towards the roadside and attempted to turn back quickly.
Police detained and searched her, recovering 4 grams of heroin from the discarded packet. Separate cases have been registered in both matters, and further investigation is underway.
