
LAHAD DATU: A wooden house was destroyed by a midnight fire at Kampung Silam Camp, here, on Tuesday.
State Fire and Rescue Department’s spokesperson said the department received a distress call about the incident at 12.04am via MERS999.
A team of firefighters was deployed to the scene in a fire engine and put out the fire using a 200-foot stream with two spouts from the water tanker fire engine.
“The fire was put under control at 12.47am. No casualty was reported in the incident.

Meanwhile in SEMPORNA, an early morning fire razed a wooden house and damaged a Proton Wira at Kampung Pekan II on Tuesday.
State Fire and Rescue Department said it received a distress call at 3.33am via MERS999.
A team of firefighters from Semporna Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene in two fire engines.
“The fire was put under control at 3.58am and the house was 100 per cent destroyed while the Proton Wira suffered 40 per cent damage,” said the spokesman.
No casualty was reported.
