Kota Kinabalu: Two houses at Lorong 4, Kampung Kalansanan, were destroyed in a fire on Thursday afternoon.
The Fire and Rescue Department, led by Saplan Safri, was alerted at 4.25pm and swiftly responded to the scene.
A total of 19 firefighters were deployed — 12 from the Lintas Fire Station and seven from the Kota Kinabalu Fire Station — to battle the blaze, which occurred just 3km from the nearest station.
The cause of the fire and estimated losses are still under investigation.
