KOTA KINABALU: Two people were injured when their motorcycle plunged into a 10-metre ravine at Jalan Kokol, Kampung Kokol here, on Monday evening.
Firefighters from the Lintas station, assisted by police and Health Ministry personnel, arrived at the scene about 30 minutes after being alerted and used rope and stretcher equipment to rescue the 16-year-old female pillion rider from the ravine.
The 20-year-old male rider, who had been helped out by passers-by before the rescue team arrived, and the girl were both given initial treatment at the scene before being sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further care.
