Police confirm identities of two victims found charred after their car crashed and caught fire at the Jitra Toll Plaza early Saturday morning.

JITRA: Police have identified the two individuals found charred after their car crashed and caught fire at the northbound Jitra Toll Plaza early Saturday.

Kubang Pasu police chief Supt Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahim (pic) said the driver was Pang Seng Chin, 20, from Arau, Perlis, and the passenger was Tan Hui Shan, 19, from Jelutong, Penang.

He said checks revealed Pang was a businessman while Tan was unemployed, with both confirmed dead at the scene.

Mohd Radzi said the 1.15 am incident involved a Honda Civic that is believed to have suddenly lost control.

The vehicle crashed into a toll lane divider, overturned, and then caught fire.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
