KENINGAU: Two lorry attendants were injured in a six-vehicle accident at KM11 Jalan Keningau–Kimanis on Tuesday.

Keningau District Police Chief Supt Yampil Garai said the 12.50pm accident involved a six-ton Nissan lorry, a Toyota Fortuner, a Toyota Avanza, a Toyota Hilux and a trailer.

AdvertisementPreliminary findings showed that the six-ton lorry was travelling from Papar towards Keningau when it experienced brake failure while descending a hill.

The lorry rear-ended a Toyota Fortuner, pushing it forward and causing a cascading collision involving subsequent vehicles in the same lane.

Read more While the drivers of all six vehicles escaped unscathed, the lorry attendants were trapped in the lorry due to the impact.

The Fire and Rescue Department was summoned to assist the duo out of the lorry. The two were subsequently sent to the Keningau Hospital by ambulance. Investigation continues.
