Two men held for drugs in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: Police arrested two local men in separate operations for committing drug-related offences.

District Acting Police Chief Supt Jimmy Panyau said the duo were detained following the operations carried out by Narcotic Crime Investigation Division (BSJND).

He said the first suspect, a 20-year-old man, was detained after the police found 5.22 grammes of syabu in his pocket.

“The suspect was currently remanded for further investigation under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he said.

He said the second suspect, 39, who had four previous criminal records was detained after his urine tested positive for drugs.

“The suspect is currently in our custody for further investigation under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he added.
