SIBU – Two teenage boys who were swept away last Friday while bathing in Sg Rajang, near Durin, about 26km from here, were found drowned today.
The Fire and Rescue Department’s Sibu zone chief Andy Alie said the body of Justin Siaw was found at 7.35am and that of Kong Wei Seng at 8.15am. Both were 15-years-old.
“Their bodies were found about 5-10km from the location of the incident,” he said in a statement here.
The two were bathing in the river with a friend at about 5pm Friday when they got into difficulties some 10m from the jetty and were carried away by the current.
A friend of the victims who witnessed the incident then rushed to inform relatives to ask for help. – Bernama, May 14, 2023
