Two more gold medals from Sabah lifters

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah weightlifters added two more gold and three silver medals at the National Weightlifting Championship 2024 in Segamat, Johor.

The State contingent with 18 members has so far collected four gold, three silver and two bronze medals after two days of competition.

Sherelyne Kirinus delivered the third gold late on Friday in the women’s 55kg category with a lift of 52kg in snatch, and 60kg in clean and jerk.

The other gold was won by Villon Munsin on Saturday morning in the men’s junior 67 kg category when he recorded 98 kg in snatch, 126kg in clean and jerk. Sherelyne Jounis (left) and Kevdylan Wong

Read more The silver medals were delivered by Sherelyne Jounis (55kg snatch, 70kg clean & jerk) in the women’s junior 55 kg category, Dawson Daimo (snatch 90 kg, clean & jerk 110 kg) and Kevdylan Wong (snatch 120kg, clean & jerk 145kg) in the men’s 67 kg senior category.

They have earlier won two gold medals on Friday through Irene Jane Henry (snatch 60 kg, clean & jerk 72 kg) in the women’s 45 kg category and Adrianne Jane Sarin (snatch 51 kg, clean & jerk 60 kg) in the women’s 49 kg category, while the bronzes came on the same day from Ellma Suzie Henry (snatch 30kg, clean & jerk 42kg) in the women’s youth 45 kg category, and Velerick Martin (snatch 95kg, clean & jerk 115kg) in the men’s senior category.
