Two Negeri Sembilan Exco members confirm receiving letters revoking their appointments after violating their oath of office
SEREMBAN: Gemencheh and Serting state assemblymen Suhaimizan Bizar and Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa have confirmed receiving a notification letter revoking their appointments as members of the Negeri Sembilan State Executive Council (Exco).
Suhaimizan, who is also the state Health, Unity, Information, National Integration, and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) chairman, said he received the notification yesterday.
“Yes, I received the letter yesterday, but I cannot comment further for now,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.
State Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Climate Change, Cooperatives and Consumerism Committee chairman Fairuz also gave the same response.
According to a statement issued by Datuk Azizi Mohamad Ali, Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Besar Seri Menanti last night, the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, had revoked the appointments of members of the state executive council with immediate effect.
The statement said the decision was made after the Exco members were found to have violated their oath of office.
Azizi said that under Article XXXVIII(5) of the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959, an Exco member, other than the Menteri Besar, holds office at the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar.
The members had taken and signed an oath and pledge of allegiance before the Yang di-Pertuan Besar on Aug 7, prior to their appointment to the state executive council.
