AT least two police officers were injured when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb while returning from investigating a theft in southern Thailand, according to reports from Thaiger.

The explosion targeted a team of investigators from the Rangae Police Station and occurred near Mo Ku We Bridge in Rangae district.

The officers had initially been deployed to Bongor to examine the scene of a reported theft. Local authorities said the attack was premeditated, with the explosive device placed alongside the road.

“When the vehicle passed over the bridge, suspects waiting nearby detonated a bomb hidden by the roadside. The blast caused the police vehicle to veer off the road and sustain damage,” a local police official stated.

The road has been closed to allow authorities to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the attack. - April 1, 2026
