Two police personnel were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a lorry at Kilometre 212.3 of the North–South Expressway near Changkat Jering on Saturday morning.

Taiping district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Nasir Ismail confirmed the incident when contacted.

“Yes, the police officers involved in the accident suffered injuries,” he said, adding that a media statement would be issued later to provide further details.

PLUS Malaysia Berhad said earlier in a post on its X account that as of 9.52 am, diversion works were still ongoing at the accident site. Both the right and left lanes were closed, resulting in traffic congestion stretching up to 10 kilometres.

As of 11.09 am, traffic in the affected stretch was still moving slowly, with road users advised to proceed with caution while authorities continued to manage the situation. - December 20, 2025
