Kota Kinabalu: Two Sabahan are recipients of prestigious scholarship under the Asean-UK SAGE (Supporting the Advancement of Girls’ Education) Programme and the British Council Women in STEM Scholarships.
Nurul, 24, started her year at the University of Bristol, pursuing an MSc in Global Wildlife Health and Conservation.
“Growing up in Sabah and witnessing the threats to local wildlife, like the Orangutan and sun bears, from habitat loss sparked my commitment to conservation,” she said.
Nurul Sahira’s academic journey began with a degree in Pure Science in Biology, specialising in Animal Biology and she has since gained professional experience working with conservation organisations in Malaysia.
