BELURAN: Two men suffered burns when their boat caught fire near the Paitan sub-district jetty (pic), near here, Friday.
The boat was carrying petrol.
The men were sent to the Pitas Hospital by passers-by.
The operation centre of the Beluran Fire and Rescue Department received a call at 5.15pm and four firemen led by operations officer James Marik rushed to the scene some 173km away.
Telecommunication was poor due to the remote location of the scene where the boat caught fire.
The fire was distinguished at 9.15pm and the operation ended at 9.17pm.
