Kota Kinabalu: Two teams from Tabs Safa Bandaraya made it to the 2023 Suparimau League finals to be held in Kuala Lumpur next month.
Their Under-16 squad under the Tabs Tigers moniker edged sister team Tabs Safa Bandaraya 1-0 in the qualifying match held at the Likas Sports Complex synthetic pitch on Sunday, while the Under-12 team defeated SK Likas 3-1 on penalties after both teams tied 1-1 at full time.
Deputy Chairman of Tabs Safa Bandaraya Lokman Sunggim, who attended both matches, praised the determination shown by the players to win their matches.
He hoped the players will continue to train hard and improve ahead of the finals in Kuala Lumpur.
Also present at the matches to give their support were Safa Bandaraya secretary Juraidah Abdul Rahim, Tabs Bandaraya secretary Amsir Abdullah and Tabs head coach Matasan Ahmad.
Meanwhile, Sabah’s representative in the final of the Under-14 category is KKFC team.
