A total of 130 suspected drug offenders were arrested in a recent series of raids across Singapore, according to the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB). The raids targeted various areas including Kallang, Marine Parade, Pasir Ris, and Woodlands.

The CNB also disclosed that drugs with an estimated street value of about $453,800 (RM1.534 million) were seized during the operation. The youngest suspects apprehended were a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy. In addition to this, the CNB confiscated significant quantities of various drugs, including 1.318kg of heroin, 2.535kg of cannabis, 486g of methamphetamine, 188g of ketamine, 62g of Ecstasy, and 311 Ecstasy tablets.

They also seized 306g of new psychoactive substances (NPS), 213 Erimin-5 tablets, 51 LSD stamps, 11 vaping devices containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), three bottles of methadone, and six bottles of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB). The authorities also confiscated $1,503 in cash. The CNB reiterated that individuals found guilty of trafficking certain quantities of specific drugs could face the mandatory death penalty.

The quantities specified include more than 15g of pure heroin, 250g of methamphetamine, or 500g of cannabis. During one of the operations on 14 August, CNB officers arrested eight people in a residential unit in Woodlands Street 81. The arrestees included two teenagers aged 15 and 17, as well as individuals between the ages of 37 and 59. The teenagers tried to escape by climbing onto the ledge from the bedroom window of the second-floor unit but were eventually persuaded by CNB officers to return to the room safely.

The rest of the suspects put up a violent struggle during the arrest and had to be subdued by officers. The officers discovered approximately 1g of methamphetamine, an Ecstasy tablet, and drug paraphernalia. They also seized about 7g of methamphetamine and additional drug paraphernalia. Another raid took place on Wednesday at a residential unit in Ghim Moh Road, resulting in the arrests of a 24-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman.

A 29-year-old man was later apprehended in the same vicinity for suspected drug offenses. In this operation, 2.485kg of cannabis, 269g of methamphetamine, 62g of Ecstasy, 288g of NPS, 100 Erimin-5 tablets, 51 LSD stamps, 11 vaping devices containing THC, and four bottles of GHB were seized. It is worth mentioning that under the Misuse of Drugs Act, arranging gatherings for drug abuse is considered an offense. It is also an offense for the owner, tenant, or occupier of premises to permit drug abuse or drug trafficking on their property.
