Two UiTM Rembau students killed in motorcycle accident

Two 19-year-old UiTM Rembau students died after their motorcycle skidded and hit a guardrail on Jalan Chengkau-Panchang-Lubok Cina.

SEREMBAN: Two Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Rembau Campus students were killed in a motorcycle accident this afternoon.

The victims, both aged 19, were confirmed dead at the scene due to head injuries.

Rembau district police chief Supt Hasani Hussain said the accident occurred at about 4 pm at KM 1 Jalan Chengkau-Panchang-Lubok Cina.

Initial investigations found the students were travelling from UiTM Rembau towards Pekan Lubok Cina in good weather.

“The Yamaha NVX motorcycle ridden by Ismawanie Husna is believed to have lost control and skidded to the left of the road and hit a guardrail,” he said in a statement.

The victims were identified as Ismawanie Husna Ismail and Nur Ain Zulaisya Zahrain.

Ismawanie was a Diploma in Information Management student, while Nur Ain Zulaisya was studying for a Diploma in Communication and Media.

Their bodies were sent to Rembau Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
