Two-year-old boy dies after falling from seventh floor of Putrajaya flat

A TWO-year-old boy has died after reportedly falling from the seventh floor of a public housing apartment in Precinct 9, Putrajaya, on Saturday.

Putrajaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed said the authorities were alerted after a doctor at the Putrajaya Hospital’s emergency ward reported that a child had been brought in by his father, covered in blood.

“Further examination confirmed that the victim had passed away,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

“Preliminary investigations suggest the child fell from the seventh floor of a public housing unit in Precinct 9.”

A post-mortem is scheduled for Sunday to determine the exact cause of death.

“The case remains under further investigation,” Aidi Sham added.

Earlier, a social media post regarding the incident went viral, alleging that the child had climbed onto a sofa placed on one of the floors of the apartment before accidentally falling. - May 18, 2025
