
A LITTLE girl had a terrifying moment when she was locked in her mother's car in an incident in front of a Tunas Islam Child Care Centre (PASTI) in Bandar Puncak Alam, today.
According to reports, the two-year-old child is believed to have been trapped for almost an hour after her mother got out of the vehicle to pick up another child at the premises.
It is understood that members of the public also tried to open the vehicle door; however, they failed before the fire department was contacted for further action.
Meanwhile, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar, said that his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 1.07 pm.
According to him, five personnel and an engine from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene of the incident, which is located about 18 kilometres from the station.
"The operations commander reported upon arrival at the location that there was a child locked in a car.
"The victim was removed safely by personnel on duty using special equipment," he said in a statement.
No injuries were reported in the incident. – April 14, 2026
