A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl tragically lost her life after sustaining critical head injuries when she was accidentally struck by her father’s vehicle while he was reversing at their residence in Taman Kesang Baru, Parit Bunga, yesterday morning.
The child battled for nearly 12 hours before being pronounced dead at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital, Muar, at 7.30 pm.
Deputy Chief of Police for Tangkak, Deputy Superintendent Jamellulkamal Abdul Halim, said initial investigations revealed that the father, in his 30s, was moving his car in reverse when he felt an impact at the rear of the vehicle and immediately stopped.
“The child reportedly suddenly exited the house and was behind the car without her father noticing,” Jamellulkamal explained in a statement.
The incident occurred around 8.15 am, leaving the toddler with severe head trauma. Authorities have classified the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and investigations are ongoing.
Police have urged anyone with information related to the accident to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Khairul Azmi Ibrahim, at 011-12445836 to assist in the investigation. - December 20, 2025
