KOTA BELUD: Two young women aged 20 and 21 who were reported missing while hiking at Bukit Bongol here on Saturday evening were found safe.
A Fire and Rescue team located them at 9.22pm the same day during a search and rescue operation launched after the distress call was received.
The Kota Belud Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 6.44pm and immediately deployed eight personnel with one fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services vehicle.
The hikers were found within a three-kilometre search radius and underwent an initial medical assessment which showed they did not suffer serious injuries.
They were safely escorted down and handed over to the police, with the operation concluding at 11pm.
