Kota Kinabalu: Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin urged people in Sabah to practise tolerance and celebrate diversity and differences.

He said one of the aspects which can unite the nation is mutual respect and unity among multiracial and multireligious people.

“All levels of society must tolerate and celebrate diversity and differences as assets, and must always be aware of the religious and cultural sensitivities of different races. I hope everyone will take care of these values to defend Sabah so that she continues to be harmonious and strong.

“Sabah is a true example of unity in diversity when National Day and Malaysia Day are celebrated in full splendour by witnessing various races and ages expressing enthusiasm and love for the nation.
