Kota Kinabalu: The welfare of the media continues to receive the attention of Istana Seri Kinabalu, especially the Head of State’s wife, Toh Puan Norlidah R.M Jasni.

After donating lunch and dinner packs, two tents measuring 20’ x 20’ were set up at the opposite corner of Istana Seri Kinabalu gate.

According to the Communication Officer, Datuk Mohd Rashid Mohd Tahir, the facility was to provide comfort to the media personnel who work hard to cover every day at the palace entrance.

“Due to Toh Puan’s concern for the media officers, we have fulfilled her noble wish by erecting two tents to provide comfort to them (the media) so that they are not exposed to rain and the scorching heat,” he said.

In the meantime, Mohd Rashid also arranged for donations in the form of packed lunches and dinners for about 50 media personnel in appreciation of the role and duties of the media.

In addition to the palace, on Monday several NGOs and leaders also came forward to donate food and drinks to the media officers, among them Segama Assemblyman’s representative Dr Mohd Saifullah Mohd Hisham.

Media personnel gathered outside the palace the past four days to monitor and report daily developments related to the political turmoil in Sabah.
