HLGY Energy is a Malaysian renewable energy developer working on utility-scale solar and integrated energy solutions under Malaysia’s Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS), including the Kedah Rubber City Solar Power Plant. Under the MoU, the two companies will explore deploying a private 5G network as the digital backbone of the farm, with U Mobile acting as HLGY’s innovation, automation, and communications infrastructure provider.

That dedicated, secure connection would support applications like autonomous drone inspections, AI-powered analytics, and smart CCTV surveillance. In practice, that should mean remote monitoring, earlier detection of problems, and faster responses when maintenance is needed. It also fits U Mobile’s enterprise growth strategy, applying ULTRA5G, which Ookla and Opensignal have independently recognised for speed and availability, to the renewable energy sector.
