U Mobile is targeting a new balancing headache to solve – Installation time and speed, and they might have done it with the new ULTRA Home 5G Pro package.
Priced at RM98 a month, the 2Gbps plan comes with a hefty 2,000GB monthly data quota and delivers speeds up to twice as fast as typical 5G home broadband services running on older 4×4 MIMO tech thanks to 8×8 MIMO 5G-A Broadband.
As such, this is somewhere between 20% and 100% better speeds, plus more headroom when several devices are connected at the same time.
Gamers get their own dedicated perk here too, AI-Powered Game Turbo, which automatically spots gaming traffic in real time and optimizes it separately from your regular internet usage. That means lower latency and more responsive gameplay across PC, console, and mobile titles, since your match doesn’t have to compete with everyone else’s Netflix binge on the same network.
The whole package comes bundled with the ULTRA Performance WiFi 7 5G-A Router, which U Mobile says is the first and only 5G-Advanced WiFi 7 router offered by a telco in Malaysia. It’s built to work seamlessly with the 8×8 MIMO network and supports WiFi 7 Multi-Link Operation, letting devices tap multiple WiFi connections at once for strong coverage across bigger homes.
For now, ULTRA Home 5G Pro is rolling out across Peninsular Malaysia, with U Mobile saying availability in East Malaysia will be announced down the line.
