PETALING JAYA: Farhash Wafa Salvador (pix) has again taken to task the Perak Mentri Besar’s office over the alleged awarding of concession for the maintenance of state roads, at state Exco meeting.
The Perak PKR chief said the state should be administered professionally, with the interest of the rakyat the priority.
“The concession for the maintenance of state roads was discreetly awarded during a State Exco meeting recently.
“As the concession was awarded to the same company as before, this has courted controversy as it was done without going through a valid tender process.
“Following the end of the existing concession, the same company as awarded the contract. However the company was renamed,“ he said in a statement today.
“How come this concession was awarded via direct negotiations? It was clearly stated in Pakatan Harapan’s election manifesto that there would no longer be direct negotiations.
“Is the Mentri Besar truly representing the interest of PH, and where were his advisors to ensure such negotiations did not take place?” he asked.
Previously, Farhash had hit out at the Perak Mentri Besar’s adviser Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin saying that the latter was affecting the administration of the state.
Farhash was commenting on Zainol’s remark that the state Pakatan Harapan component party leaders should not pressure Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu into making decisions over administrative matters.
Zainol was reported to have said that state party leaders should not question Ahmad Faizal’s responsibilities in managing the state when decisions do not favour them.
Farhash had reportedly called out Ahmad Faizal to administer the state responsibly and not be stubborn when doing so.
This started when Farhash had questioned the delay in the appointment of local council members from PKR.
