The United Arab on Friday said it had come under renewed attack from Iran, with air defences intercepting incoming missiles and drones, according to a statement from the defence ministry.
The ministry said it was dealing with the attacks, while the national emergency authority urged residents on social media platform X to remain in safe locations and follow official instructions. It also warned people not to approach or photograph falling debris.
No immediate details were provided on intended targets.
The UAE was struck by Iranian attacks earlier this week for the first time since a ceasefire in the region took effect around four weeks ago. Iran described those earlier strikes as a response to a US-led initiative to reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz launched on Monday. US President Donald Trump suspended the initiative on Tuesday.
On Thursday, the United States carried out strikes on targets in Iran after an Iranian attack on US destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran said the US action violated a unilateral ceasefire that Trump had extended indefinitely, and warned of retaliation.
