Udinese coach Andrea Sottil is critical of Italy boss Roberto Mancini for snubbing Destiny Udogie and Matias Silvestri.
The pair were overlooked by Mancini for his latest Azzurri squad.
Sottil said: "These choices surprise me. I absolutely respect the choices of the coach Roberto Mancini, whom I respect a lot. but he surprised me.
"I think Udogie is one of the best full-backs in our league, he shows it on the pitch, I'm not saying that because of my bias.
"Silvestri the same, I think he's one of the best goalkeepers we have in Italy. The boys accepted the decision and they will work even better in view of the next call."
