UEFA president Alexander Ceferin admits he finds Barcelona's Negreira case a serious concern.
As of today, as reported by Ceferin, the 'Negreira case' is being investigated by "an independent disciplinary committee in charge of it" for observing "a possible violation of the UEFA legal framework by Bara".
"At the level of the Spanish League, of course, the matter is prescribed. And it cannot have competitive consequences, but the procedures are ongoing at the level of the Spanish civil prosecutor's office. But as far as UEFA is concerned, there is nothing that is prescribed," said Ceferin.
In an interview with the Slovenian newspaper Ekipa, Ceferin also said: "I cannot comment directly on this for two reasons. Firstly, because we have an independent disciplinary committee in charge of it. And secondly, because I have not dealt with this matter in detail.
"However, I can say something. I have informed myself and the situation is extremely serious. It is so serious that, in my opinion, it is one of the most serious in football that I have seen."
